The LEED test exam as it is more often referred is a method by which the USGBC credentials individuals as professionals in the green building industry. Starting in 2009 the USGBC has changed the rules for LEED AP test credentialing. The LEED AP exam is sometimes incorrectly referred to as the green builder test or LEED Certification test. Green Building is a process defined by the USBGC called LEED. Buildings go through a certification process where they are measured by the level of sustainable materials, processes and operations used in its construction. The LEED AP is the steward of the LEED process. The new credentialing process is being rolled out through 2009 and into 2010 and will include a general accreditation called the Green Associate as well as a number of AP Specialty Accreditations. More information about becoming a LEED AP can be found online by visiting GBCI.org. With the rollout of the LEED 2009 credentialing system there will no longer be AP accreditation given for LEED-NC or CI.
